Most of us had just a little idea of what really happens up in the skies. We usually see the shining night sky as something far, far away, but we forget that, depending on the point of view, we can also be a shinning star in some other world's sky. We want to build spacecrafts in order to travel through the universe, but we can't see that we are already traveling in a big, huge, fast flying object we call Earth.
We are not merely observers, we are part of it. In fact, the stars are nothing but a mirror. While we keep on looking at it, at the space, as something out of our realities, we'll let our head empty enough so it could be stacked with things like religions, social distorted perceptions, frenetic capitalism, and false conceptions of reality. So if we could understand and feel the real size of our universe, and the movements of the space machinery, before these bad concepts could overfill our mind and imagination; Then, we'll stop to believe in things that seems real but are lies and starts to believe in things that seems lies, but are real. Pick up our children and show it to them. and we could dream with an entire generation thinking better, acting better, and, most of all, living better. This is the Orbit Project.
The Children of today are the parents of tomorrow, so, changing our children, we are changing our future. Right? It seems silly and obvious, but it also seems that nobody ever put a real thought on this.
We use to underestimate our kids capacities, but we forget that we are all results of what we have being experiencing since we are born. Most of all, as little kids, we are ultimate influenciable, by things we've seen and heard, and things that catch our attention and appease our mind.
We´ve been raised through the last decades watching Popeye fight Brutus, Jerry running from Tom, Woody Woodpecker being furtive and cheater, Coyote doing anything he can to kill Roadrunner, and so it goes. And the new generation of kids entertainment are not different enough. We are teaching our kids to fight back, to join war, to be selfish, and, in the worst case scenario, we´re teaching our children to laugh from tragedy and pain, so that they will build they adult personality based in cold and careless feelings.
But if instead of use the same old formula, to gain attention and make money, we try to use a different approach. Something not the old “hero-drama of self overcome and achieve of goals over obstacles”. Lets put a tought on it. Lets change it. This is pure limitation.
Entertainment and education can dance together, and even better when its not cliché. Clichés just doesn't catch enough attention.
Once education is putted on the background, and fun is mainly treated as the center of the whole play, we can catch ones attention with jokes, but, in a subliminal way, we are putting inside ones mind information and concepts.
So let me put it in a simple way: fun to educate.
Not to educate to the market
But to educate to the future.
Educate to change.
